How It All Began (Background)

Just like everything does. A small seed was sown 8 years back.

Richa Pathak, the ever-compassionate individual that she is, was always involved at a personal level with supporting the needy around her. She used to arrange for food and other basic things for a few needy children near her house, but one night, she was struck with the thought that in order to make a big difference and extend facilities to more children, she would need to include more people in her endeavour. She spread the word in her circles of friends and neighbours about her regular visits to slum settlements to distribute food and invited anyone who wanted to join.

In a random eureka moment, she thought of asking for a meagre amount of Rs. 100 as a monetary contribution from interested patrons. The idea was that such a small amount given on a daily basis is in no way intimidating for the giver, but it makes a world of difference to a child who shall be getting a plate full of food. It, therefore, wasn’t a surprise, when Richa started getting abundant positive responses to her idea and more and more people started chipping in. Thus, the informal initiative grew and became an admirable organization that is striving to make the world a better place.

The objective Just 100 works upon is to provide wholesome, healthy, nutritious meals to indigent children to eliminate malnutrition among the slum areas. Just 100 wants to encourage people to contribute in any capacity they can to feed more people and help them grow. Just 100 believes that small amounts and efforts can truly help bring larger changes to the communities in need.
